The Story of a Photographer
My passion for photography began at a young age. I spent countless hours flipping through family photo albums, buying disposable cameras with my allowance, and borrowing my mother’s DSLR to stage photoshoots with friends. At sixteen, I expressed interest in photography to a friend in my theatre program who owned a business—Paul Wood Photography. That connection led to an apprenticeship with the owner and his wife, where I gained hands-on experience assisting with prom sessions and various photoshoots. During this time, I began learning not only the technical side of photography but also the importance of building genuine connections with every client.
I later refined my skills through photography courses at Northwestern State University, where I developed a stronger foundation in technique and creative expression. After graduation, I moved to Orlando, Florida, to work as a Disney Photo Imaging photographer at Walt Disney World. This role allowed me to share my passion with guests from around the world, capturing magical memories across the parks. My journey at Disney eventually led to leadership and technical support roles within the Photo Imaging department, where I mentored fellow photographers and helped troubleshoot creative and technical challenges.
Living in Orlando inspired me to establish my own photography business. With the support of fellow Walt Disney World cast members, I created an inclusive and affordable photography service that catered to performers and artists. I began capturing headshots, weddings, creative portraits, and more—each session reinforcing my commitment to creativity and connection.
From this journey, Magnificent Photography was born—a name that not only plays off my own but also reflects my mission: to provide each client with truly magnificent photographs and an authentic, personalized experience. There is no greater reward than seeing the joy on my clients’ faces when they view their final images.
